While I was looking for a doctor, someone specializing in hair loss, I was satisfied with this physican's assistant knowledge on the condition. She is a good communicator, informative and personable which is always a plus. She left me with a preliminary treatment plan that I'm happy with and also showed concern for my cosmetic and overall skin concerns. I would recommend the practice based on this initial visit.

I went in because of several bumps on my face that have appeared in the last few years. I was stuck in traffic and made it just in time for my appointment, so I told the assistant that.I could go wash my makeup off so that the PA could look at my skin and was told that wasn't necessary. I had one biopsy taken from the several bumps that were on my face and it was unlike the rest because I had had it for almost two decades (unlike the rest that I had been worried about). The biopsy came back for that one bump as an angiofibroma and Sara said that since I had so many, that could mean a genetic disorder (one of three possible and they were all quite serious) and was sent to my primary for genetic testing. None of this felt right to me and I even sent feedback indicating my displeasure with the lack of history and examination in my first visit. I found out that the genetic testing was likely not going to be covered by my insurance and would be very expensive. I still felt like the diagnosis was incorrect and sought another opinion. It turns out, I was correct. The rest of the bumps (after examination and some biopsies) were sebaceous hyperplasia and two were basal cell carcinomas. To summarize, I went in for suspicious bumps, and left being told the bumps were benign but could mean I had some kind of underlying disorder, when in fact that some of those bumps were cancer and nobody felt like it was pertinent or necessary to examine them, even though that was what my appointment was for. I should sue for malpractice due to negligence, but I would be happy to just spread the word that this provider is not thorough enough in their skills and prevent others from leaving with untreated skin cancers and unnecessary genetic testing.
