Minimize Skin Flaws and Reverse the Signs of Aging with Morpheus8
Your skin is a remarkable organ. It’s your body’s largest organ, and it’s the one that absorbs the most abuse from outside impacts, such as pollutants and the sun’s ultraviolet (UV) rays. Combine this with the reduced collagen and elastin that occurs with age, and it’s no wonder we develop wrinkles, fine lines, spots, hyperpigmentation, and other imperfections.
Seeking treatment for the signs of aging isn’t new, but many therapies are invasive, even painful, and can require extensive downtime. At Dermatology Associates of Central NJ, with locations in Old Bridge, Freehold, and Union, New Jersey, our providers offer Morpheus8® radiofrequency microneedling, which is a safe anti-aging treatment that provides fantastic results with no downtime.
Why is my skin changing?
Collagen and elastin are among the most abundant proteins found in your body, and they’re the most vital to providing structure, strength, and elasticity for your skin. Over time, your body slows its production of these vital proteins.
Moreover, your skin is constantly exposed to UV rays, stress, soaps and cleansers, and other factors that can cause premature aging. So, as you age and your skin needs more protection from within, you’re actually getting less.
How does Morpheus8 help?
Morpheus8 combines microneedling with radiofrequency technology. The Morpheus8 device penetrates the skin, creating microchannels up to 4mm deep, much more than other microneedling devices, and yet with more patient comfort.
The tiny, ultra sharp needles pierce the skin without tugging or pulling, making Morpheus8 the most comfortable microneedling procedure available. As the punctures are created, the device releases radiofrequency waves into the skin to help increase the production of elastin and collagen, which can help your skin grow back smoother and firmer.
The Morpheus8 system can help treat fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, injury or surgery scars, cellulite, loose or saggy skin, hyperpigmentation, and hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating).
What can I expect from a Morpheus8 procedure?
Your provider at Dermatology Associates of Central NJ first cleanses the treatment area to help prevent infection. Your provider may also apply a topical ointment to increase your comfort, and local anesthetic injections can also be used.
Next, your provider uses the Morpheus8 device to treat the targeted area, microneedling and releasing radiofrequency waves into the skin. A typical treatment lasts around 20 minutes, depending on the area being treated. Then, your provider applies a growth serum to soothe the skin and boost cell regeneration.
After your Morpheus8 treatment is complete, you may continue with your normal routine. Any temporary swelling can be treated with an ice pack. We also recommend using SPF lotion to protect against UV rays and not putting on makeup for at least 24 hours. Your provider may also prescribe some antibiotic cream.
Most patients enjoy full results in about 3-6 months. Your provider may recommend multiple treatments — up to four — to help you achieve the results you desire.
